REGULAR BOARD MEETING
THURSDAY, JULY 9, 2009
Held at the Alden Town Hall, Star Prairie, WI
7:00 p.m.

Chairman Brad Johnson called the regular monthly board meeting to order at 7:00 P.M.

PRESENT: Brad Johnson – Chairman, Keith Karpenski, John Bonneprise, Helen Johnson Town Board Supervisors, Judy Demulling – Town Clerk, Margo Dahl –Treasurer.

ABSENT: Supervisor Gary Dado

AGENDA: A motion was made by Supervisor Karpenski, seconded by Supervisor Johnson to approve adoption of the proposed agenda. Motion carried.

APPROVE BILLS: The monthly bills were presented to the Town Board. A motion was made by Supervisor Bonneprise, seconded by Chairman Johnson to approve payment of the bills as listed. Motion carried.

TREASURER’S REPORT: Treasurer’s report was presented to the Town Board. A motion was made by Supervisor Johnson, seconded by Chairman Johnson to approve the treasurer’s report as presented. Motion carried.

MINUTES: A motion was made by Supervisor Karpenski, seconded by Supervisor Johnson to approve the minutes of the June 11, 2009 Regular Town Board Meeting and June 25, 2009 Board of Supervisor’s Meeting. Motion carried.

PUBLIC COMMENT – NONE

OLD BUSINESS

a.  Review Regulation of the Wagon Landing Cemetery – Clerk Demulling had some ordinances from other municipalities. No action taken will be put on next month’s agenda.

b.  Discuss the Possibility of Constructing a Storage Shed – Received a quote from Cover-All of Wisconsin, LLC, and a rough estimate from Babcock brothers. No action taken.

NEW BUSINESS

a.  Authorize Advertising for Bids to Complete 23rd Avenue/Alden Estates – A motion was made by Supervisor Johnson, seconded by Supervisor Bonneprise to authorize Advertising for Bids to Complete 23rd Avenue/Alden Estates. Motion carried.

STATUTORY PLANNING COMMISSION

a.  Working on changing Town of Alden’s Land Division Ordinance – Transfer of Development Rights.

ROADWORK ISSUES - PUBLIC WORKS:

a.  Discuss Alden/Black Brook Boundary Agreement Revision – Chairman Johnson presented a proposed Maintenance Agreement on Boundary Roads between the Town of Alden and Black Brook. A motion was made by Supervisor Karpenski, seconded by Supervisor Johnson to present to Black Brook the amended Maintenance Agreement on Boundary Roads. Motion carried.

b.  Award Bids for Reconstruction of 15th and 20th Avenues – A motion was made by Supervisor Bonneprise, seconded by Chairman Johnson to award the bid for reconstruction of 15th avenue to Gjonnes & Sons Construction. Motion carried.

c.  Supervisor Bonneprise, seconded by Supervisor Karpenski to award the bid for reconstruction of 20th avenue to Gille Construction. Motion carried. Town engineer, Dan Fedderly, will set up a pre-construction meeting.

 

AGENDA ITEMS FOR NEXT MONTH – Cemetery Ordinance, Rescind Ordinance #12 Skiing on Lake Big, Wind Church Pine Lake District, Authorize collection of Letter of Credit to complete 23rd Avenue/Alden Estates, Review/accept Joint Alden/Black Brook boundary agreement.

ADJOURNMENT: A motion was made by Supervisor Bonneprise, seconded by Supervisor Karpenski to adjourn. Motion carried. 8:20 p.m.
